Principle
We do not see ourselves as a community on an island, but a small part of God's global and historic Church. While we believe the historic, Reformed tradition to be the true summary of the faith, we also understand that not all Christians in all of time have perfectly aligned with our understanding. And yet, we gladly affirm that these alternate traditions have been, can be, and are home to many true brothers and sisters in Christ. By "Catholicity," we are referring to the "catholic" or "universal" (all times and places) nature of the church of God.
Practical
In our trust in God as the lone Sovereign and Arbiter of Truth, we insist upon a great affection and appreciation for the Christians who came before us and around the world today who might affirm different particularities about the faith, so long as they can confess with the historic Church the ecumenical creeds of our fathers (Apostles' Creed, Nicene Creed, Definition of Chalcedon, Athanasian Creed). In those instances, we are a community gladly willing to work alongside other Christian churches and organizations for the purposes of cultural engagement and public policy, while never sacrificing our strict adherence to our Reformed roots.
