The First Commandment does not merely forbid bowing before obvious idols; it also confronts our proud desire to pry into God’s hidden counsel. The Lord has given us what we need for faith and obedience, and He calls us to receive what He has revealed and rest where He has been silent. Let God be God, and let us be His worshippers.
